Session 1 ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR WOODLAND: PEOPLE, PROGRAMS AND PLANNING

The creation of a healthy woodland requires knowledge of forestry techniques and the  investment of time and money. This session will link you to people, programs and organizations that offer technical and financial assistance for all aspects of your woodland. We will also take you through the beginning steps of woodland management. Start by considering what is important to you, and learn what resources that will make your vision a reality.

Session 2 GET TO KNOW YOUR LOCAL TREES & INVASIVE PLANTS

Join a forester as you get to know what trees are in your woods. We will review the major trees and invasive plants you will likely find on your property and how to identify others when you return to your property. We will also discuss the uses of different tree species.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, 6–8 pm

Session 3 HAVE A STRESS-FREE TIMBER SALE

From identifying your goals to final closeout of your sale, this session will introduce you to the steps and timeline involved in conducting a successful timber sale. Topics will include guidance on selecting a logger, why a timber sale contract is important, and supervisory steps involved in conducting a harvest.
