Session 1: Selling Timber Smart: Planning and Conducting a Timber Sale for Walnut and Other High-value Hardwoods
Learn how to decide which, if any, trees should be selected for cutting and why. Learn the benefits of removing some trees as well as the reasons for not cutting others. Landowners, foresters and timber buyers must work together to achieve a well-managed woodland. As a landowner, it is your right and responsibility to
make sure that your timber is cut in a sustainable manner ensuring that your financial interests are protected. Learn different ways to sell your timber and protect your interest when dealing with high-valued hardwoods such as black walnut, red
oak, and sugar maple.

Session 2: Selling Timber Smart: Planning and Conducting a Timber Harvest That Enhances Deer and Other Wildlife Habitat
Learn about the many ways you can care for your woodlands to enhance habitat and attract wildlife, and understand the value of removing undesirable vegetation and trees. Also learn about other management practices you can use to
attract specific wildlife species like white-tailed deer, wild turkey, ruffed grouse and songbirds.
