SESSION 1
How to Invite Wildlife to Your Woodland
October 3, 6-8pm
Learn to enhance your woodlands to attract a variety of wildlife. This session identifies the four requirements to attracting
wildlife to your land: space, water, food and shelter, as well as how you can manage your woods to improve the
wildlife potential.
SESSION 2
Harvesting Trees For Your Own Use
October 10, 6-8 pm
Do you cut firewood or wood for your own use? This session will help you understand the process for selecting which trees
to cut and why. We will also look at how cutting trees for your own use can be compatible with other uses for your woodland
such as recreational trails and wildlife habitat.
SESSION 3
The Language of Foresters: Connecting Their Words To Your Woods
October 17, 6-8 pm
Do you wonder what a forester means when they use certain words? Do you wonder whether you need to cut trees? Gain
an understanding of what is meant by thinning, selection harvest, group selection harvest, clear cut and shelterwood harvest.
Learn what each term means, when each is used, and what it will look like if a forester recommends it for your woodland.
SESSION 4
People, Programs and Planning: Assistance with Your Woodlands
October 24, 6-8 pm
The creation of healthy woodlands requires knowledge of forestry techniques, and the investment of time and money.
This session will link you to the people, programs, and organizations that offer technical and financial assistance for
all aspects of your woodland. We will also take you through the beginning steps of woodland management. Start by
considering what is important to you, and learn what resources will be needed to make your vision a reality.

Cost:
Single Class: $20 per person per class.
Workshop Series (4 Classes): $60 per person.
Family Discount for Workshop Series: $30 per person for each additional family member attending the workshop series.
Space is limited, so registration is required.
Registration includes a light evening meal served during the class.
