A forest health primer
Join us for a fun afternoon at a local forest preserve to observe and discuss how to identify common forest insects, pests, and diseases. Natural resource professionals will lead you through an overview of forest health issues in northern Wisconsin and discuss how insects and diseases may be impacting the health and productivity of your woodlands. This session will equip you with the tools and knowledge to assess and manage the health of your woodlands. Join us after the session to continue talking about all things forestry during our Forest Health Happy Hour at a local establishment in Cable (location TBD).

A forest health bus tour
Join us for a scenic bus tour and light hiking as we visit forests around the Cable Lakes area to see first-hand how insects, pests, and diseases are impacting our local forests. We will venture on short scenic hikes to discuss the biology and management of some well-known tree killers like oak wilt and emerald ash borer, as well as some emerging threats like the recently discovered calisiopsis canker. Join us to experience the natural beauty of the Cable area while learning about management challenges and opportunities that help keep our forests healthy. Lunch will be provided during the tour.
Registration is $30 per person for this series and includes both events. Light refreshments will be provided at the first event. Bagged lunches will be safely prepared and provided for the second event bus tour.
The meeting locations will be shared once registration has been completed.
